Ivy Henderson is the Director of Housing & Real Estate Development of LIFT JAX, an initiative of business and community leaders working to eradicate generational poverty in Jacksonville. In this role, Ivy is responsible for managing the operational aspects of property acquisition, new home/building construction and renovations as it relates to the non-profit’s work in the Eastside community.
Ivy is a Jacksonville native, currently residing OutEast with her partner and daughter. Her passion and skills compel her to be an advocate and active community member in her neighborhood. She serves in various volunteer roles and is one of the co-founders of Greenlining Jax Org, which serves previously redlined communities through an environmental lens. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Eastside Main Street Board.
Prior to LIFT JAX, Ivy held the position of Park Planner and Designer for the City of Jacksonville Parks, Recreation and Community Services department. In her role, she planned, created and implemented innovative projects that improved the quality of local parks and the quality of life for all users. Through community engagement, Ivy ensured that the needs and desires of all stakeholders were heard and represented.
Ivy is a proud alumnus of the University of Florida where she received her Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture, Magna Cum Laude. During her studies she gained skills and knowledge in planning, urban design, landscape design, and construction.
