Intuition Ale launches “Outeast” Lager to support the Eastside

Intuition Announces Partnership with Historic Eastside CDC, Releases “Outeast” Lager

June 3, 2021 – Intuition Ale Works is excited to announce the release of “Outeast,” a lager brewed in partnership with the Historic Eastside Community Development Corp. It will be available exclusively on draft in Intuition’s taproom starting on June 8th, and will remain in the permanent draft lineup.

One dollar from every pint sold of Outeast Lager will be donated to the Historic Eastside CDC to support their ongoing mission to enhance the quality of life and economic opportunities for Eastside residents and businesses, while preserving the history and culture of the neighborhood.

“When Intuition moved to the Eastside five years ago, we hoped to contribute in a positive way to the community that has been here long before us,” said Brad Lange, Intuition’s Chief Operating Officer. “The Historic Eastside CDC and LIFT JAX have been doing crucial work to combat food insecurity, and to promote the revitalization of the neighborhood with a long-term and sustainable vision. We are excited to be able to support their efforts in a small way.”

Outeast Lager was brewed specifically with the neighborhood’s history and culture in mind. Its name refers to the endearing nickname that generations of residents have used when talking about the Eastside.

“We are excited about the ‘Outeast’ lager and the opportunity to strengthen our partnership with Intuition through this and future endeavors,” said Suzanne Pickett, president and CEO of the Historic Eastside CDC.

LIFT JAX, a local initiative of business and community leaders working to eradicate generational poverty in Jacksonville – starting with Jacksonville’s Eastside – echoed Ms. Pickett’s sentiment: “LIFT JAX firmly believes in the power of community collaboration to create more vibrant neighborhoods, so we are thrilled anytime a company makes an investment in the future of the Eastside and its residents,” said David Garfunkel, president of LIFT JAX. “We look forward to working with Intuition Ale Works on this creative endeavor to expose the larger Jacksonville community to Outeast.”

Outeast is a crisp and refreshing lager with a mild, malty flavor.

“We wanted to brew a light and approachable beer that would appeal to any beer drinker,” said Intuition’s owner and founder Ben Davis. “We hope that visitors to the taproom enjoy it when exploring the neighborhood or before attending an event nearby. Our staff is already looking forward to telling guests about the Historic Eastside CDC and how Outeast will directly support their work in the community.”

Outeast will be released to the public at 3:00 on Tuesday, June 8th in Intuition’s taproom. It will be available in the taproom year-round.
